Mike Hamill – Owner

mike-hamill fitwellsMike Hamill, a 40-year fitness veteran, is the owner/operator of several Women’s Only Fitness Facilities throughout Canada.  He also owns and operates many fitness industry related companies. Mike’s lifelong dedication started at a young age, opening his first fitness centre at 24 years of age.

In Mike’s youth he won several major competitions including BC Wrestling championship, Power lifting championship, Bodybuilding championship for BC, making him Mr. Vancouver and BC’s Karate championship. His diversity has made him a master in the industry.

Mike is a sought after trainer for many movie celebrities. His most current work is with Tom Berenger and Clint Eastwood.  Mike’s enthusiasm and passion for fitness is clearly exhibited through his companies.  One of his most passionate projects was developing the fitness centres and training studios for the 2010 Winter Olympics. His latest project is an elite training studio at the Tsawwassen Springs overlooking the beautiful golf course.

Paula Larson – Chief Operating Officer

paula fitwellsPaula has been a part of the Fitwells team since 1994. She started her career as a group fitness leader 27 years ago; the same year her daughter was born. Her struggle with weight and her passion to change lead her to pursue a career in which she could help motivate and inspire those with similar challenges.

Paula competed in the National Aerobic Championships in 1998 and her team won the gold medal. She is dedicated to making Fitwells a leader in Fitness Facilities.

Her passions include running along the seawall, step classes and snowboarding.

Ambur Hamilton – Maple Ridge Club Manager

ambur fitwellsAmbur Hamilton has always had love for fitness and health since her childhood. Her focus and energy was put into playing basketball which she continued playing at the university level.

As an active member of the gym since 2001 she decided that Fitwells for Women was the perfect way to combine her passion for fitness and helping people. She started her fitness career ten years ago where she has worked in several roles including childminding, weight room attendant, reception and her most current position as Club Manager at the Maple Ridge location.

Her favourite thing about working in the fitness industry is educating women about the positive impact that health and fitness can bring to a person’s life.
