Biography
I joined Fitwells as a member over 16 years ago. I really felt comfortable with the friendliness of the staff, and soon began to make friends both with fellow participants and instructors. Soon instructors were urging me to follow in their footsteps and Learn to Teach. I was hesitant at first, as my children were my top priority and they were very young, however I realized that I could teach and still spend plenty of time with my kids.
My love for fitness coupled with my love for people soon had me craving for more. I began teaching step, but soon realized that I was missing out on another important component to fitness…strength. Cardio training has always been my prime motivator, but when I had the opportunity to train in Body Training Systems for Group Power, I was 1st in line. How fabulous to get toning and strength in one class!
The key to success in fitness is getting started..that is sometimes the biggest hurdle. I believe that with a personal trainer anyone can reach their goals. With my experience and knowledge I know I can take you there.
My goal as a personal trainer is to specifically design a full body program for each client including cardiovascular training, strength training, and flexibility training. I am trained to notice the slight variation in body movement, to safely and effectively teach you each exercise I design.

Philosophy:
In order to live life to the fullest, I believe one needs to be operating at an optimal level physically and mentally. Fortunately one feeds the other! Balance is one of the keys and most of us have much to balance in our daily lives! Time for ourselves to take care of each important area of health and wellness is difficult to carve out but vital to our physical, spiritual and emotional health.
My approach to fitness is holistic and functional- to help my clients on their journeys to their wellness goals with programs and exercises that address their individual needs, while creating efficient workouts that strengthen for real life, and increase confidence and that amazing feeling of mastery and accomplishment. I have worked in the fitness industry for 15 years in various environments including; post-cardiac training, post-rehab training, corporate fitness and wellness, community fitness and prenatal and postnatal fitness. Corby Lynn Pinder – Certified Personal Trainer Tsawwassen

Corby is the trainer you’d like to have in your corner. She has directed and seen many transformations, including her own. Working in the film industry took a major toll on her body, especially core, and she found herself in debilitating pain from a herniated disc in her lumbar spinal region. Not to mention 30lbs heavier. Growing up as a well-rounded athlete this affected her not only physically, but mentally as well.
Reluctant to have surgery to repair the disc, she decided to strengthen her core and rebuild her posture with a proper weight training and core-strength program. No surgery, No pain, No more weight-gain!
The journey that sculpted her into her best shape ever, also steered her onto a new path and career!
That was 5 years ago now and the passion is still burning bright!!

Elaine recognizes that we all go through stages in life where physical activity takes a back seat. Her goal is to assist you with realistic strategies to get activity into your life for good. Whether you need a kick start to your metabolism, you are beginner just returning to fitness or need a more advanced or specific program, she will work with you to provide customized personal training.
Elaine’s experience is varied; working with schools teaching fitness and delivering seminars designed to foster healthy eating and active lifestyles, working with clients who need injury and post-surgery rehabilitation exercise programs, as well as custom fitness programs.
Personal training is so much more than just a kick-butt workout! Tailored differently for everyone, it can be about weight loss, strength training, rebuilding lost confidence, learning what motivates you and general support for healthy living and aging.
